January

 

Staff of the Group joined the “Walk for Millions” by the Community Chest

 

Approximately 250 staff of the Group and their families joined the “Hong Kong and Kowloon Walk” organized by the Community Chest on 10 January 2016. Funds raised from this event were allocated to the “Family and Child Welfare Services”, to help those families in need and encourage mutual support relationship among family members in order to maintain and strengthen family bonding.

 

The Group received the gold awards at the “Good Housekeeping Forum and Award Presentation 2015-16” jointly organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Council and Construction Industry   Council

 

On 5 January 2016, the construction project of HOS flats at Sha Tsui Road, Tsuen Wan and Ching Hong Road, Tsing Yi of the Group won the gold awards at the “Good Housekeeping Forum and Award Presentation 2015-16” jointly organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Council and Construction Industry Council at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.

Shenzhen Hailong passed the re- examination of national high and new technology enterprise

 

Shenzhen Hailong Building Products Co., Ltd. passed the re-examination of national high and new technology enterprise and continued to be benefited from the supporting policies and relevant preferential tax treatments of the government.

 

The Group was listed as one of the top 100 Hong Kong listed companies

 

The Group was listed as one of the “Top H-Share 100” jointly organised by Tecent and Finet, being the second time since the establishment of the list in 2012, which highlighted our long term outstanding operating performance in the capital market.

The Group received multiple awards at the “Safety Teams in Construction Industry Safety Award Scheme 2015/2016”

 

On 6 March 2016, leveraged by the outstanding safety performance of our construction projects, the Group won multiple awards at the award ceremony of “Safety Teams in Construction Industry Safety Award Scheme 2015/2016” organised by 16 organizations, including the Labour Department of Hong Kong, Occupational Safety & Health Council, other government authorities and industry-related organizations.

The Group received numerous awards at the Fifth “Macau Construction Industry Safety Award Scheme”

 

On 28 April 2016, at the sharing seminar and award ceremony of the “Macau Construction Industry Safety Award Scheme” organized by the Labour Affairs Bureau of the Macau SAR Government, China Construction Engineering (Macau) Company Limited, a subsidiary of the Group, received a total of 37 awards in three group categories and two individual categories, and China State Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Limited received 5 awards in three group categories and one individual category.

Leaders of the Group were invited to visit the newly-built Fire and Ambulance Services Academy

 

On 20 May 2016, leaders of the Group were invited by Mr. Lai Man-hin, the former Director of Fire Services, to visit the newly-built Fire and Ambulance Services Academy and a training session.

 

 

The Group received various awards in the “Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme”

 

On 27 May 2016, the Group received various awards, including the Considerate Contractor Award and Outstanding Environmental Management Award, in the “22nd Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme” jointly held by the Development Bureau and the Construction Industry Council.

Topping-out ceremony of OGB building, an extension of the Tai Po Water Treatment Works

 

In the morning of 21 June 2016, the topping-out ceremony was held for the OGB building, an extension of the Tai Po Water Treatment Works. Mr. Enoch Lam Tin Sing, the Director of Water Supplies, recognized the strategic importance of the expansion of Tai Po Water Treatment Works to water supply of Hong Kong, highly praised the project management provided by the China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited and congratulated the smooth completion of the OGB building in his speech.

The Group won the bidding of Tseung Kwan O Lam Tin Tunnel project

In July 2016, China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited, a subsidiary of the Group, and Leighton Asia jointly won the bidding of Tseung Kwan O — Lam Tin Tunnel project with a total contractual amount of approximately HK$8.73 billion. The Company holds 49% interests in the joint venture, representing approximately HK$4.28 billion of the contractual amount.

Mr. CHAN Ka-kui, the Chairman of the Construction Industry Council, and his team visited the industrialization project of the Group in  Hefei

On 10 September 2016, Mr. CHAN Ka-kui, the Chairman of the Construction Industry Council, and his team visited the Binhu Run Garden Public Housing Project in Hefei, Anhui, (安徽合肥濱湖 潤園安置房項目) invested and constructed by the Group with industrialized construction technique in the mainland China, and inspected the prefabricated parts factory of Anhui Hailong Construction Industrial Co., Ltd..

The Group received the “Excellence in Responding to Climate Change Enterprise Award”

 

The Group received the “Excellence in Responding to Climate Change Enterprise Award” from Carbon Disclosure Project (“CDP”), an organization committed to tackling climate change, in recognition of the outstanding achievement in global environmental information disclosure in 2016 of the Group.

Association of the Group held a half-day Eco-tour

In the morning of 26 November 2016, the Association of the Group organized a Half day Eco-tour at Yim Tin Tsai, Sai Kung (西貢鹽田梓半日生態導賞) for the employees of the headquarters of the Group, CSCEHK and Far East Global and their families, and a total of 40 people participated. Ms. Anna Kwong (鄺心怡女士), a senior architect in Hong Kong who has been in charge of maintenance and design projects of churches, has shared the story about the renovation project of the catholic church.

The Group won the NCE Tunnelling Award 2016

 

The Central — Wan Chai Bypass — Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter section undertaken by the China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited, a subsidiary of the Group, which is characterised by its high technical difficulty and effective project management, won the tunnelling project award of USD500 million or above among over 40 global competitors at the New Civil Engineer (“NCE”) Tunnelling Award 2016 held by the Institution of Civil Engineers (“ICE”). This is the first major award received from the ICE by the CSCEHK since its establishment.

 

Roadshow of Hunan Changsha Huanghua Integrated Free Trade Zone (Hong Kong) was successfully  held

The "Roadshow of China-Changsha Huanghua Integrated Free Trade Zone (Hong Kong)" ( 中國—長沙 區( )招 ) hosted by the Group, Department of Commerce of Hunan Province and Changsha Government, and co-organized by China State Construction International Investments, the People’s Government of Changsha County and Hunan Changsha Huanghua Integrated Free Trade Zone at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center successfully held on 19 December 2016 with over 200 participants, including representatives of organizations including the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong S.A.R., the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, as well as companies engaging in processing, trading, bonded logistics, cross-boundary e-commerce and bonded services.

 

JANUARY

 Staff of the Group joined the “Hong Kong and Kowloon Walk for Millions” by Community Chest: Nearly 300 staff of the Group and their family members joined “Hong Kong and Kowloon Walk for Millions” organised by the Community Chest of Hong Kong on 5 January 2014. Fund raised from this event was donated by the Community Chest of Hong Kong to “Family and Child Welfare Services” to help those families in need, so as to unite all families by building up close relationships between family members with mutual love and respect.


● Mr. Leung Chun-ying, Chief Executive of the HKSAR, visited the site of the Construction of Public Rental Housing at Sha Tin Area 52: On 22 January 2014, Mr. Leung Chun-ying, GBM, GBS, JP,  Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“HKSAR”), led major officials of relevant government departments to visit the Group’s public  housing project at Sha Tin Area 52. Mr. Leung recognised  the Group’s contributions in Hong Kong public housing and other livelihood construction project. Mr. Leung also acknowledged the success of the Group and looked forward to further cooperation between the Group and the HKSAR government.



● Upgrade of long-term credit rating of the Group by Fitch and Moody’s: The long-term credit rating and senior unsecured note rating of the Group were upgraded to “BBB” with outlook of “stable” by Fitch. The long-term credit rating of the Group was upgraded to “Baa2” with outlook of “stable” by Moody’s.

FEBRUARY
● Ground Breaking Ceremony of the Design and Construction of Centre of Excellence in Paediatrics in Kai Tak Development,  Kowloon: The Ground Breaking Ceremony of the Design and Construction of Centre of Excellence in Paediatrics in Kai Tak Development, Kowloon was held on 25 February 2014 with Mrs. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, GBS, JP,  Chief Secretary for Administration, Dr. Ko Wing-man, BBS, JP, Secretary  for Food and Health, Professor John Leong Chi- yan, SBS,  OBE, JP,  Chairman of the Hospital Authority, and Mr. Leung Koon-kee, JP, Director of Architectural Services Department, of the HKSAR as officiating guests. The guests officiated the ground breaking ceremony and unveiled and commemorative plaque to wish for the smooth commencement of construction work of the hospital.


March
 The  Group  won  various  awards  of  the Construction Industry Safety Award Scheme: The  award presentation  ceremony of the “Construction  Industry  Safety  Award  Scheme 2013/2014” organised by the Labour Department and the Occupational Safety and Health Council was held on 16 March 2014. By virtue of the joint efforts of all its construction sites, its persistently outstanding performance in safety and its unparalleled effort in creating a safe and healthy working environment, the Group won various awards again.


● The Group received the annual award from the Architectural Services Department of the Hong Kong government: On 27 March 2014, the Group was awarded “Green Contractor Award — Silver Award” in respect of the Design and Construction of Fire Services Training School cum Driving Training School at Tseung Kwan O. It was the first time that the Group received the award which was presented by Mr. Wai Chi-sing, Permanent Secretary for Development of Hong Kong. As a large-scale contractor with a long-term, sound and cooperative partnership with the Architectural Services Department Bureau, the Group’s outstanding performance in environmental safety and project management was highly recognised.


April

● The Group successfully hosted a reverse roadshow: On 29 April 2014, the Group successfully hosted a reverse roadshow. A delegation of analysts and fund managers from 28 investment banks and institutions visited 深圳海龍建築製品有限公司 and Public Rental Housing Projects at Sha Tin Area 52. In response to the commercialisation of residential properties recently obtained by the Group in the Hefei City of Auhui Province, this reverse roadshow was titled “The Housing Industrialisation and its Applications in Affordable Housing Establishment” in order to introduce the basic concept of commercialisation of residential housing and demonstrate the leading technology and strengths of the Company in the sector to the capital market.

● The Group received  several awards in the 20th Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme: The “20th  Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme” organised by the Development Bureau of the HKSAR government and the Construction Industry Council was held on 29 May 2014. Attributable to its continuous outstanding performance as considerate contractor and its unparalleled effort in environmental protection, the Group received several awards, including Considerate Contractors Site Award (Gold Award) and Outstanding Environmental Management and Performance Award of Public Works (Gold Award) in the category of Non-Public Works — New Works. Various employees were also awarded the Best Model Frontline Supervisor Award and the Best Model Worker Award. Its performance surpassed many large scale construction enterprises in Hong Kong.


June

● China State Environmental Protection Day (中建環保日): In response to World Environment Day on 5 June every year, the Group performed its social responsibility to enhance the awareness  of environmental protection of employees. During the annual China State Environmental Protection Day, the Group also participated in an eco- cultural tour of “Hoi  Ha Wan Marine Park and Sheung Yiu Village”  for employees to enjoy nature and understand the eco-system  and customs and cultural preservation work in Hong Kong. Through participating in this event, the Group showed its continuous support to corporate social development, its determination to fufill corporate social responsibility and contributions for the promotion of eco-cultural protection.

● The Group received several awards in the 15th session of construction safety promotion event: Capitalising on the continuous excellent safety performance of several construction sites, the Group received several awards in the 15th session of “Construction Safety Forum and Award Presentation Ceremony” held on 9 July 2014, including Central-Wan Chai Bypass Tunnel (Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter Section) Best Safety Working Cycle Site (Gold Award), Best Safety Culture Activity Team (Gold Award), Best Performance  Award (Gold Award) and Best Safety Culture Site (Silver Award), Best Safety Culture Project Manager/Site Agent (Gold Award), Best Safety Culture Sub-contractor (Gold Award). Public rental housing project at Sha Tin Area 52 phase 3 and 4 received the Best Method Statement (Merit).



August

● The Group visited the leaders of relevant cooperation units in Fujian Province: On 24 and 25 August 2014, the delegation visited Fujian Province and had meetings with the leaders of relevant cooperation units in Fujian Province. The delegation had a meeting with the leaders of China Construction Seventh Engineering Division Corp. Ltd. and CSCEC Strait and visited the project of Fuzhou Strait Olympic Sports Center (福州市海峽奧林匹克體育中心). Then, the delegation met Fujian branch of China Construction Bank, and Fujian branch of Bank of China, in order to extend the cooperation for a win- win situation of the banks and the Group.


September

● The Company was selected  as a constituent stock of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices for the second consecutive year: Upon the assessment of sustainability indices by Dow Jones, the Group was selected as a constituent stock of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices for the second consecutive year. The recognition reflects the leading position of the Group in the world in terms of operation, environmental protection and social responsibility. It also represents the international recognition of the Group’s efforts on sustainable development.


October
● Opening ceremony of tunnel breakthrough at Central-Wan Chai Bypass Tunnel (Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter Section): On 15 October 2014, the opening ceremony of tunnel breakthrough at Central-Wan Chai Bypass Tunnel (Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter Section) contracted by the Group was held with Mr. Lau Ka Keung, JP, head of Highways Department of the HKSAR as officiating  guest. Mr.  Lau acknowledged and recognised the technology, work ethic and devotion of the management of the Group. Other guests visited the construction  site of the tunnel, witnessing  the successful of this construction milestone.



November
● Delegation of the Beijing Office of the State Administration of Work Safety and the Labour Department of the HKSAR visited the project site of Fire Services Training School cum Driving Training School at Tseung Kwan O: On 17 November 2014, accompanied by Mr. Li Sze Ming (李施明), head of the eastern district of the Labour Department of the HKSAR, head of Human Resources  and Training Unit  (人事教育處) of the Beijing Office Administration of Work Safety and Labour Department, and deputy head of Occupation and Hygiene Supervision Unit  (職 業衞生監督處) visited the project site of Design and Construction of Fire Services Training School cum Driving Training School at Tseung Kwan O of the Group. The safety and environmental protection management of the project was highly recognised and discussed the implementation of relevant safety policy and the work guidance of the Labour Department with  the delegation before visiting the construction site.

The Group received investment grade ratings from Standard & Poor’s, Moody’s and Fitch’s

The Group successfully received investment grade ratings from Standard & Poor’s ‘BBB-’, Moody’s ‘Baa3’ and Fitch’s ‘BBB-’.


Site inspection delegation led by the Vice-Presidente of Legislative Assembly of Macau at Habitacão Pública no Seac Pai Van – Lote CN5a ( 石排灣公共房屋 CN5a 地段工程 ) contracted by China Construction Engineering (Macau) Company Limited

The Vice-Presidente of Legislative Assembly of Macau, Mr. Ho Iat Seng, and the Secretariat for Transport and Public Works (Macau), Mr. Lau Si Lo, inspected Habitacão Pública no Seac Pai Van – Lote CN5a (石排灣公共房屋CN5a地段工程), which is contracted by the China Construction Engineering (Macau) Company Limited, on 15 January 2013. The innovative green elements added to the public housing construction and rich construction management experience of China Construction Engineering (Macau) Company Limited in large scale public housing were well-received.

Contract signing ceremony of Construction of Superstructure of Block B for St. Paul’s Hospital Redevelopment

The owner of the Construction of Superstructure of Block B for St. Paul’s Hospital Redevelopment project is The Mother Superior of the Soeurs de Saint Paul de Chartres (Hong Kong). The contract value is approximately HK$1,776 million with a construction term of approximately 23 months.

The Group won various awards of the Construction Industry Safety Award Scheme

The award presentation ceremony of the ‘Construction Industry Safety Award Scheme 2012/2013’ organised by the Labour Department was held on 17 March 2013. By virtue of the joint efforts of all its construction sites, its persistently outstanding performance as a considerate contractor and its unparallel effort in creating a safe and healthy working environment, the Group achieved satisfactory results again.

The Group secured the BT Contract of Phase II of Affordable Housing Construction in Lucheng District, Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province

The owner of the BT Contract of Phase II of Affordable Housing Construction in Lucheng District, Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province is the Wenzhou Lucheng District People’s Government. The attributable contract value is HK$4,526 million. The project has a construction term of approximately 30 months.


The Group successfully expanded the financing channel

The Group successfully issued five-year guaranteed notes of US$500 million, which was the first debt financing of the Group since its listing. As such, the financing channel of the Group was expanded.

The Group won various awards of 2012 Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme

The award presentation ceremony of the ‘2012 Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme’ jointly organized by the Development Bureau of the HKSAR and the Construction Industry Council was held on 31 May 2013. The Group won various awards and surpassed many large scale construction enterprises in Hong Kong with its persistently outstanding performance as considerate contractor and its unparallel effort in environmental protection.


The Group secured the MGM Cotai Project in Macau

China State (Hong Kong) – China Construction (Macau) Joint Venture wholly owned by the Group, secured the MGM Cotai Project with a total contract value of approximately HK$10,485 million, which is the highest contract value of wholly-owned projects of the Group.

China State Environmental Protection Day

In response to the ‘World Environment Day’ on 5 June 2013, the Group took part in the ‘Yim Tin Tsai Ecological Tour’ during the annual ‘China State Environmental Protection Day’ for participants to admire the natural environment and understand the ecological preservation works in Hong Kong.


Unveiling of China State International Tower (深圳中建國際大廈) in Shenzhen

China State International Tower (中建國際 大廈) has seven storeys and is served as the offices for China State Construction International Investments (China) Limited, the management platform of all businesses in Mainland China of the Group, and its subsidiaries stationing in Shenzhen.

The Group entered into a strategic agreement with the Shenzhen Branch of China Construction Bank Corporation

The Group entered into a strategic agreement with the Shenzhen Branch of China Construction Bank Corporation with a value of RMB15,000 million. The bank also entered into a RMB loan agreement and a RMB credit limit agreement with China State Construction International Investments (China) Limited with values of RMB1,300 million and RMB300 million, respectively and a RMB loan agreement and a RMB credit limit agreement with Shenzhen China Overseas Construction Company Limited with a value of RMB1,200 million and RMB300 million respectively.


August

Selected as a constituent stock of the ‘Dow Jones Sustainability Index’ for the first time

The operation performance of the Company was recognised by the capital market. Its highest share price during the year was HK$13.92, representing an increase of 58% and a record high market value of over HK$54,000 million. It has been selected as a constituent stock of the ‘Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index’ for three consecutive years and was selected as a constituent stock of the ‘Dow Jones Sustainability Index’ for the first time.

The Group secured the Relocation Housing BT Project in New District of Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province

The owner of the Relocation Housing BT Project in New District of Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province is the Zhenjiang District People’s Government. The attributable contract value is HK$2,813 million. Both the construction term and buy back period of each sub-project are 2 years.

The Group secured the Infrastructure BT Project in Phoenix Pool of Lintong District, Xi’an, Shaanxi Province

The owner of the Infrastructure BT Project in Phoenix Pool of Lintong District, Xi’an, Shaanxi Province is the Xi’an District People’s Government. The attributable contract value is approximately HK$2,500 million. Both the construction term and buy back period are 2 years.


November

Contract signing ceremony of Design and Construction of Centre of Excellence in Paediatrics in Kai Tak Development, Kowloon

The owner of the Design and Construction of Centre of Excellence in Paediatrics in Kai Tak Development, Kowloon is the Architectural Services Department of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR. The project adopts a design and construction contract model with an aggregate contract value of HK$9,090 million and a construction term of approximately 39 months. The main contractor is the China State – Shui On Joint Venture.

Upgrade of long-term credit rating of the Group by Standard & Poor’s

The long-term credit rating and senior unsecured note rating of the Group were upgraded to ‘BBB’ by Standard & Poor’s.

Nearly 400 staff of the Group joined “Community Chest Walks for Millions on New Territories” organized by the Community Chest of Hong Kong on 19 February 2012. Fund raised from this event will be used by the Community Chest of Hong Kong to finance its “Services for the Benefits of Family and Children” to help those families in need, so as to unite all families by building up close relationships between family members with mutual love and respect.  



The Group was awarded “2011/12 Caring Company Logo”

The Group was conferred the “Caring Company Logo” for four consecutive years, and it had met the criteria in three scopes, namely “Caring for the Community”, “Caring for the Employees” and “Caring for the Environment”.

The Group was honored several golden awards under the Construction Industry Safety Awards Scheme 

Organized by the Labour Department, the award presentation ceremony of the “2011/2012 Construction Industry Safety Awards Scheme” was held on 11 March 2012. With various sites joining the scheme, and with its excellent performance in site safety and its effort in creating a safety and healthy working environment, the Group recorded satisfactory results again by winning golden awards under three major categories.

The Group obtained Fujian Zhangzhou Limin Jiayuan Affordable Housing 
With its owner being the Zhangzhou municipal government, the Group obtained the Fujian Zhangzhou Limin Jiayuan Affordable Housing which has a contract value of approximately HK$2.84 billion and a construction term of 24 months.

The award presentation ceremony of the “2011 Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme” jointly organized by the Development Bureau and the Construction Industry Council was held on 24 May 2012. By virtue of its persistently outstanding performance as a considerate contractor and its unparallel effort in environmental protection, the Group surpassed many large scale construction enterprises in Hong Kong by winning 9 Considerate Contractors Site Awards and 8 Outstanding Environmental Management and Performance Awards.

President of China Mr. Hu Jintao visited the construction site of Construction of Public Rental Housing Development at Kai Tak Site 1A Phases 1 and 2, a project contracted by the Group
On 30 June 2012, accompanied by Sir Donald Tsang Yam- kuen, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, the President of China Mr. Hu Jintao visited the construction site of Construction of Public Rental Housing Development at Kai Tak Site 1A Phases 1 and 2, a project contracted by the Group.


Contract Signing Ceremony for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai- Macao Bridge Hong Kong Link Road – Section between Scenic Hill and Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities
The Contract Signing Ceremony for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai- Macao Bridge Hong Kong Link Road – Section between Scenic Hill and Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities was held on 15 June 2012. With the Highways Department as the owner, the project has a contract value of HK$8.88 billion. It is expected to be completed in 2017. It is the Group’s highest value, wholly-contracted project in Hong Kong.


The Group secured a Hong Kong Housing Authority project

The Group secured the Construction of Superstructure of Block B for St. Paul’s Hospital Redevelopment. The owner of which is Sisters of St Paul de Chartres Hong Kong, and the contract value is approximately HK$1.78 billion with a construction term of 24 months.


The Group won various awards in the Construction Safety Promotional Campaign
The Construction Safety Forum and Award Presentation Ceremony organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Council was held on 12 July 2012. The Group has long been promoting the safety of construction sites and progressively implemented series of new safety management plans and initiatives, targeting to improve management of safety risk and enhance the safety awareness of all labours and sub- contractors. As such, the Group won various awards in this campaign.


The Group raised funds of HK$2.23 billion by way of top-up placing
The Group placed 300,000,000 shares by way of top-up placing  at a price of HK$7.57 per share, raising net proceeds of approximately HK$2.23 billion.

The Group achieved record-high market capitalization

On 13 August 2012, the market capitalization of the Group reached HK$33.98 billion, a record high since listing of the Company.


The Group announced 2012 Interim Results

The 2012 interim results were announced on 22 August 2012. For the six months ended 30 June 2012, the unaudited profit attributable to the owners of the Company was HK$887 million, representing an increase of 35.8% over the corresponding  period last year. It recorded revenue of HK$8,958 million, up 47.5% over the corresponding period last year. Earnings per share were HK24.73 cents, an increase of 23.3% over the corresponding period of last year. The Board resolved the payment of interim dividend of HK$7.0 cents per share.

Operational Status of the Group for January to December 2012
The value of new contracts for the whole year of 2012 amounted to HK$36.80 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 21.53%, and 105.14% of the whole year target of 2012. As at 31 December 2012, aggregate value of the contracts on hand of the Company was approximately HK$93.00 billion. Among which, contract value of incomplete projects was approximately HK$57.69 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 17.93%, which is sufficient for the construction business of the Company for the next three years.

Announcement of 2010 annual results on 18 March 2011. For the year ended 31 December 2010, the audited profit attributable to owners of the Company was HK$1,036 million, with a revenue of HK$13,967 million. Earnings per share was HK34.99 cents, up 54.5% year on year. The Group secured 35 new projects in the year 2010, with an aggregated contract value of HK$24.93 billion.

Fujian Zhangzhou Ecological Park Relocation Housing BT project of the PRC. (The owner is the People’s Government of Zhangzhou, Fujian, and the project has a total attributed contract sum of approximately HK$3,000 million, GFA of approximately 770,000 sq.m for the relocation housing project, and approximately 1,300 mu for public ecological park and exhibition hall).

Received the first repurchase payment of Wuxian Highway Reconstruction and Shahu Passageway Project 

The project company, which undertook the Wuxian Highway Reconstruction and Shahu Passageway Project through BT model in 2009, received the first repurchase payment in October 2011. The Company considered that the early repurchase by the Wuhan government is an indication of the strong financial strength of governments where the Company’s BT projects are located, and that the Company has good risk control ability for BT project repurchases.

The Company was awarded a BT contract for relocation housing in Hangzhou. The employer of the projects is the government of Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou, and the project has a total attributed contract sum of approximately HK$1,738 million, GFA of approximately 500,000 sq.m and a construction period of approximately 24 months.

The design for the Construction of Public Rental Housing Development at Kai Tak Site, 1A Phase 1 and 2 adopted green concepts with many advanced environmental designs. The Construction of Public Rental Housing Development at Kai Tak Site 1A Phase 1 and 2 project, together with the Hong Kong Housing Authority, prepared CD-ROM and brochures describing various low carbon construction methods and initiatives adopted at the Site to share the experience with peers, and promote their implementation in other public housing sites with a view to advance the development and progress of sustainable construction in the sector.

● Announcement of annual results 2005. For the year ended 31 December 2005, the Group’s turnover was HK$6.86 billion (excluding the results of China Construction Engineering (Macau) Company Limited).

April

● The Group won various Considerate Contractors Site Awards for the Hong Kong construction industry which recognised the Group’s achievements on environmental protection.
● The Group had undertaken the Design and Construction of a Sports Ground at Area 45, Tseung Kwan O. The contract was officially signed at the Headquarters of Architectural Services Department. The Sports Ground will be the main venue for East Asian Games 2009.

May

● The contract of the Foundation and Construction of Choi Wan Road Site 1 Phase 1 and Phase 2 was officially signed.

June

● Completed the acquisition of the entire share capital of China Construction Engineering (Macau) Company Limited.
● The commencement ceremony of Construction of Tin Shui Wai Area 103 Phase 1 was held.
● The commencement ceremony of the Design and Construction of a Sports Ground at Area 45, Tseung Kwan O, the venue for East Asian Games 2009 was held, indicating the main works of the project commenced.

July

● The Group undertook the 2008 Olympic Equestrian Venues Core Venue Main Construction Contract for which the Equestrian Venue for the Olympic Games 2008 will be built.
● The Group undertook the Landslide Preventive Works at Po Shan Road, Mid-levels. The project was undertaken by a joint venture with China Railway Engineering Corporation.

August

● The interim results 2006 were announced. For the period ended 30 June 2006, the Group’s turnover was HK$4.87 billion.

September

● “China State Construction Quality Service Campaign 2006” was launched.
● Construction Sites of Proposed Through — Train Schools at Tseung Kwan O and Sha Tin Heights Tunnel and Approaches were awarded Wastewi$e Logos.
● Representatives from KCRC visited the Construction Site of Foundation and Construction of Choi Wan Road Site 1 Phase 1 and Phase 2.

October

● Leighton – China State – John Holland Joint Venture signed the letter of intent with Melco PBL Entertainment in relation to the project “City of Dreams” in Macau. 
● The Group was awarded two building construction works contracts from Sino Group, including the KCRC Wu Kai Sha Station, Ma On Shan and TWTL 394 Yeung Uk Road Tsuen Wan. 
● The Infrastructure for Penny’s Bay Development (Phase I & II) was awarded the Grand Prize in the Sixth Zhan Tianyou Civil Engineering Award Presentation Ceremony.

November

● Residential Development at Nam Van Lake Lot C9, Macau was held.
● Commencement ceremony for the construction of the venue for equestrian competition of the Olympic Games 2008.
● Mr. Kong Qingping was named a member of the expert committee of the Ministry of Construction.
● Hosting the 2006 Safety & Environmental Protection Management Workshop for designated subcontractors of the sites of Housing Authority.

● Mr. Kong Qingping was engaged as the visiting professor for the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
● The Competition of the Most Environmental Friendly Construction Proposal and Environmental Protection Workshop was organized.
