China State Construction International Holdings Limited Awarded West New Territories (WENT) Landfill Extension Project in Hong Kong, Showcasing the Strength in Clean Technology

Recently, China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited and Alchmex International Construction Limited, both subsidiaries of China State Construction International Holdings Limited (“CSCI” or the “Group”) , and the French Veolia Group, successfully won the bid for a large-scale environmental protection project under Environmental Protection Department—West New Territories (WENT) Landfill Extension Project ("WENTX"), with a total contract value of HK$61.1 billion, which is the largest construction project of the Group.
In order to solve the waste disposal issue caused by the increasing saturation of existing strategic landfills in Hong Kong, the SAR government launched the New Territories West Landfill Expansion Plan. The project adopts a design, build and operate (DBO) model and is expected to provide approximately 76 million cubic meters of landfill capacity upon completion and can process approximately 10,000 tons of solid waste per day. This will solve Hong Kong's waste disposal needs in the next few decades, and especially provide an important basic guarantee for the future rapid urban construction and active population growth of in Northern Metropolis.
